Some Good News for Local Economy at local Industry

 For more than a year, Robica Forman Tank’s design and manufacturing team has been diligently working on designing and building a new system concept design, stainless steel, insulated, heated, filtering; 90,000 L transformer oil, highway transport trailer, for Hydro One.  Acronym: Mammoth TOT (Transformer Oil Treatment-trailer).

One trailer of this new design replaces at least 3 or more existing trailers, so the cost savings and efficiency have an outstanding payback & efficiency schedule for the large Provincial utility.

 In the interests of improving efficiency, Hydro One has now ordered 5 additional TOT trailers, up to 96,000 L capacity, for a total value close to $3M.

 “One of the 90,000 Liter TOT trailers” is scheduled to be “handed off” to Hydro One. The unique design and excellent local workmanship of this exciting new product and it’s unique attributes.

Robica is currently designing additional manufacturing space at the facility and will be hiring some new workers.

 Robica is a local family owned, transportation tank and enclosure manufacturing facility. ROBert & monICA Nothof started the business in 1984 and purchased Forman Tank & Welding in 1989 which was established in 1952. Their three children, Dan, Lisa and James, are all actively involved in the operation of the business. The major markets have been Petroleum and Propane tankers manufactured for major petroleum companies and their associates in Ontario and the Maritimes. Recently stainless steel tankers have been supplied to Western Canada. Robica has also supplied petroleum military refuelers to the Canadian Department of National Defense. 

This exciting new “patent pending” Mammoth TOT product has the potential to be marketed to all large Electrical Utilities in North America.
